Jobs at GoApe!
Take forests all over the UK, multiple awards and thousands of avid adventurers and you’ve got Go Ape – the UK’s number-one name in forest adventures.
This is where you come in…
Go Ape offers physically and mentally challenging fun, laughter and adventure in, around and up the trees. If you feel as strongly as we do about living life more adventurously then this could be the perfect environment for you to work in.
Our site teams make the difference between a good adventure, and a really great overall experience. We really believe our Instructors and Duty Managers are at the heart of everything we do, so who better than to tell you more about the job than some of the tribe?
Michelle Preece, 30, Wyre Forest

I initially visited Go Ape as a customer in a hope that it would help with my fear of heights and bridges – boy did it deliver! I applied online the following season and have worked here ever since. Our day usually starts by opening and safety checking the course, which requires good fitness levels to pull your self up the zip slides. I will then give a group of customers a safety brief before they go around the course, we then ensure customers continual safety by patrolling the forest. All members of staff are involved in the day to day running of the site and therefore each day varies, as does the weather. A love of working in all weather conditions is essential. No two days are the same, one day you may be doing maintenance or conducting briefs, the next you may be dressed as a gorilla handing out bananas at a local event!
Alex Boundy, 21, Moors Valley
I am currently studying at University and Go Ape has been a great job to have in between studies. Our site has a Treetop Adventure, a Junior Course, and Forest Segway. I started at the beginning of the season and had an epic first few weeks before we had even opened! The training at site helps you to feel confident with the roles, who wouldn’t want to be paid to practice and learn the ins and outs of Go Ape? As well as being paid to swing around in the trees and ride Segways the teams are always outgoing and fun and the daily interaction with customers at the site just adds to this. During the warmer months, there aren’t many jobs where you get to go to work in shorts and enjoy the great outdoors. Even in the winter spirits and enthusiasm are still high, despite the sometimes typically British weather! Providing a close friendship group, loads of extra opportunities and a healthy, active, outdoor lifestyle, Go Ape couldn’t be a much better suited job for me!
Simon Bennett, 53, Sherwood Forest
My name is Simon and I have worked at Go Ape for 4 years, 2 of these were as a duty manager, before this I was in the jewellery trade. My role as duty manager means I am responsible for the safety of all customers and staff and to make sure the site runs safely and efficiently, this is achieved by my staff and I working together to make sure every customer has a great experience. While being a duty manager I have been on a 2 day management course and I am one of five staff that are rescue trained. My past employment has helped me understand that customer satisfaction is, after safety, the most important thing. Every day is different and is always throwing up new challenges, which keeps the job fresh. On many occasions customers have said to methat “You have the best job in the world” do you know, they are right!
